New Delhi: The rift within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to Narendra Modi critic widening Sanjay Joshi has resigned from the party citing pressure from Modi. BJP President Nitin Gadkari Joshi's resignation accepted.
BJP spokesman Prakash Javadekar confirmed Joshi will leave from the party and the The BJP President Nitin Gadkari's accepted his resignation. The BJP, however, remained silent on the reasons for his resignation.
Reacting to Joshi's resignation from the post of party, the BJP spokesman denied any rift Meenakshi Lekhi party and said Joshi was not asked to leave. "Sanjay Joshi was never asked to resign, he was given the resignation itself. People who join a political party, leave and then join back. These things happen in political parties. It is normal in democracy, "Lekhi said.
Joshi has been removed from the BJP national executive last month Modi needs. Joshi's resignation is even as there was opposition within the party over his departure from the BJP national executive.

Modi was upset after he was reinstated Gadkari Joshi at the party and made him in-charge of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Joshi had to leave his post in 2005 after his purported sex headline hit CD.
Modi has not turned up to campaign in Uttar Pradesh, even as Gadkari is keen to himself. He even skipped the last party gathering held in Delhi in December last year. Since then the Gujarat Chief Minister and Gadkari that were not in the best of terms.
